Last Will and Testament - Testator Illiterate - Widow, No Children (Louisiana)

This is an example of a will by a person who is unable to read or write. The document states that the will was read aloud by a Notary to the Testatrix and that she acknowledged hearing it read and made her mark in the appropriate places on the will. In this example, the Testatrix is a widow with no natural children who leaves her estate to her stepson. The stepson is also appointed as executor of the estate. In the event of the stepson predeceasing the Testatrix, she declares that her estate will be shared equally between her descendants by roots; an alternate executor is also named in case of such event.
