Credit Freeze Request
If you're the victim of identity theft, or might be, you can use a Credit Freeze Request to help protect your credit score, so that the thief is unable to open credit cards using your name or access your credit history. When you make a Credit Freeze Request, you will have to file a request with each of the three credit reporting bureaus, although they all have different requirements. This Credit Freeze Request quickly generates custom letters to satisfy each of them.
Use the Credit Freeze Request document if:
- You're the victim of identity theft and want to limit access to your credit score.
- You suspect identity theft.
- You need to freeze access to all three credit reporting agencies.
