Nova Scotia Certificate of Lis Pendens

If you are starting legal action against a property owner under the Nova Scotia Builders' Lien Act, you need to register a Certificate of Lis Pendens against the property.

• A Certificate of Lis Pendens (or CLP) gives notice to any mortgagee, encumbrancee or potential purchaser that there is a legal action pending which affects title to the property.
• This form is for use in lien claims filed in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.
