Download a free copy of the Last Will and Testament of American screen legend Joan Crawford (1905-1977).

Born Lucille LeSueur in San Antonio, Texas, Joan Crawford started her career as a dancer but was signed by MGM to a motion picture contract in 1925, thanks to her tireless self publicity.

She won an academy award for Mildred Pierce in 1945. In 1955 she married Alfred Steele, the president of Pepsi-Cola Company, and was involved with the Board of Directors until 1973. She retired from films in 1970, having made over 80 films and a number of TV appearances.

After her mother's death from a heart attack, her daughter Christina wrote a bitter memoir entitled Mommy Dearest about her relationship with her mother, in which she alleges a pattern of abuse throughout her childhood.
