Alberta Unpaid Vendor's Lien Caveat

If you are selling a real estate property in Alberta, register a caveat against title to the property until you receive the full amount of the sale price from the purchaser.

• The Alberta Land Titles Act allows you to protect your interest as seller of the property by filing a caveat.
• Once the balance of the sale proceeds have been paid, the purchaser can then file a Discharge to remove the caveat from the title.
• The form includes a Form 27 Affidavit in Support, which is required to be filed with the caveat.
