Quitclaim Release (Non-real estate)

This Quitclaim Release is for intellectual property (such as a screenplay or script) which is copyrighted or trademarked. This document effectively sets forth that the owner of a copyright or trademark is quitclaiming ownership to another. The release sets forth the name of the owner, a brief description of the copyright or trademark and the person to whom ownership is being transferred. It is important that this type of release be set forth in writing, rather than by an oral agreement.
