General Power of Attorney

A General Power of Attorney document authorizes an individual (Agent or attorney-in-fact) to act on another's (Grantor or Principal) behalf in legal, financial, and business matters. This legal form can be used to handle general everyday needs or be limited for a specific function. As an example, a Power of Attorney form can be utilized when an individual can not personally handle a specific business or legal matter and wants to authorize another person to manage the matter on his or her behalf. Furthermore, a Power of Attorney can also be useful when a person is not able to make decisions due to mental or physical incapacities.
