Security Deposit Demand Letter

Most landlords require that rental tenants provide a security deposit which is used to ensure the tenant performs the obligations under a lease. Most leases contain provisions that if a tenant pays rent on time and causes no damage to the premises beyond ordinary wear and tear, they are entitled to a full return of their security deposit. Unfortunately, some landlords do not fulfill their obligations under a lease and do not refund security deposits in a timely manner. This Security Deposit Demand Letter is designed for use by a tenant in writing to a landlord requesting a full return of the security deposit.
