Affidavit of Title

This specialized type of affidavit is used in real estate transactions to verify certain information regarding a piece of property. This document is generally used at the closing of the sale of a piece of property. An Affidavit of Title is often required by a mortgage lender prior to approving a mortgage. With an Affidavit of Title, a landowner or seller states, under oath, that he or she has full possession and ownership of the property being sold.
