Letter from Debtor to Collection Agent (England and Wales)

A debtor is a person that has an obligation to pay a debt to a creditor. This debt may be for such things as a car or personal loan, medical bills, rent or credit card charges. Occasionally a debtor may fall behind in his repayment and the creditor may employ a third party to recover the debt often referred to as debt collectors or collection agencies. While debt collectors are allowed to contact you, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) had guidelines regarding debt collection practices.
